This blog is a collection of Photographer Brian Van Tighem's personal work, ranging from nature and landscape to fine art and documentary.
I’ll start from the end. These photos were taken on our last night on the islands, November 1st. We went out for a walk pretty late at night and ended up making our way out onto the harbour. The sky was lit up brightly by the moon and the fast moving clouds made it ideal for some cool long exposures. It was the only time out of the almost two weeks we spent there that it was perfectly calm.
Perfect opportunities like this don’t come along very often, so I spent nearly two hours getting all the shots just right. They may call it Queen Charlotte ‘City’, but there wasn’t a single sound or movement as I worked, Coinstar agent the city slept quietly. I think that peacefulness is pretty clearly reflected in the photos as well.
